Collaborate with the creators of The Arrival to compose the thematic score that will underscore the journey of Allister Adams and his family as they navigate the dangers of a superstorm disguised as an impending alien arrival.

Hi Jason, hope everything's doing great! We had a breif interaction on IG last night and here's my application as promised :) I finished reading 'The Arrival' and I have to say I'm intrigued to see what happens next, I hope Patrick's alright!
Based on the context of the 2040s with a bit of a retro aesthetic I can't help but thinking of a heavy use of synthesisers as a musical base do build on. This is since they would give us that 'futuristic' feel from the get go and are a very maleable tool from which we can derive a lot of tension and urgency, however, for the more emotional bits I'd like to incorporate some orchestral instruments on top.
I would like to start with a few SFX of the storm to come, mainly wind and some electric crackling to then introduce slow Bass Drones on a synthesiser that'd help us depict we're in a serious situation without immediately giving away how serious it is (pages 3-7).
It would be like this piece (1) I've done in the past, this was for the game Dashpong, a different context, so for 'The Arrival' it would be in a slower tempo and with a much more sombre feel.
Something closer to this track (2) ('The Game Has Changed' from Tron Legacy) where we have more cinematic elements such as hits and a string section that helps us with the urgency.
From page 8 we can start ramping up the tempo and intensity a little bit while leaving room for the SFX of the 'duel of energies' so that can take the forefront up to the point where Patrick exits Andromeda Power on page 13.
From there we're now at full blast with a faster tempo and a hint of optimism that quickly turns sour depicting Allister's fear. And in this escape 'sequence' we can showcase the nuances of the situation, hope, fear, urgency I would even suggest to experiment adding some metal elements to it, such as the first 2 minutes of this track (3) from Andromida where it goes from atmospheric synths to a full blown riff (obviously keeping the sombre feel from the begining).
Here's an example (4) of a similar track I made for LUCID. And of course we could achieve a similar result while sticking to electronic/orchestral instruments if preferred.
This would come to a sudden halt on page 26 when the car gets split in half leaving us with basicaly silence but a few atmospheric pads that help blend the transition back to Cumberland Falls and anticipate a huge hit when the ship finally colides on pages 27-28.
From page 29 onwards we could move to a second track that similarly to the beginigng of the story starts from silence and a few SFX of a fire this time, slowly builds up an eerie atmosphere that puts in the forefront Allister's suffering grunts and the SFX of his 'rapid healing' arm. Keeping such feel up to when he's intercepted by the soldiers, here we can play with synthesiser's drones to achieve a couple different feels while adding the 'Patrick's heroic theme' from before when Allister thinks he hears him, that sweetly blends into 'Dolores' theme' once he realises its her, of course on surrounded with in the grim context they currently face. (We'll need to subtly establish these themes in Part 1 so that they sound familiar here).
This will slowly build up to page 35 to have it peak on page 37 for it to go silent (or almost silent we could use a filter to have a 'underwater' effect on the music once Allister actually attacks on page 38 and have subtle background drones with an ambiguous feel on page 29.
Jason thank you so much for taking the time to read this, let me know if you have any inquiries and questons and I hope that we can work togerher on The Arrival.
