Collaborate with the creators of The Arrival to compose the thematic score that will underscore the journey of Allister Adams and his family as they navigate the dangers of a superstorm disguised as an impending alien arrival.
Hello!
Regarding the work for "The Arrival," please find below the demo composition I created specifically for the project. I thought it would be interesting to blend your original brief with the emotions I experienced while reading the comic.
I sensed the ambivalence between the fragility of Patrick and Allister during their hover, the risks they take to reach Dolores, the fact that they are being chased by a supernatural catastrophe, and the strength of the bond that unites them. These elements reminded me of a combination of "The Road" (by Cormac McCarthy, for the father/son bond), "Mad Max: Fury Road" (for the tension and the chase), "Alita: Battle Angel" (for the universe), and much more.
I incorporated some "sci-fi sounds" (such as early 2000s breakbeat, 21st-century Blade Runner-style sounds) along with some classical orchestral touches to create a complex and rich sonic universe. The loops of melody and drums evoke a sense of urgency and running. The main theme at the end reflects Allister, his powers, his awakening (at 12:22 AM), and the hope he embodies, as well as the strength of the love that unites the family.
I truly hope you enjoy this piece of music as much as I enjoyed reading the story and delving into LCOA and "The Arrival." I look forward to the possibility of collaborating on this beautiful project :)
These portfolio elements are intended to showcase some of my collaborations (and my trusted partners). You'll also get a glimpse of my sound palette. Hiraeterra's album is a "story without words," which demonstrates how I like to create or enhance stories and atmospheres through music and sound.
