Hi,My name's Maks and my approach to scoring tends to bit more on the research side, before deciding on a particular sound aesthetic. I'm highly collaborative and confident in my genre-hopping abilities to accommodate the team I work with arrangement and aesthetically-wise, but if the work of understanding the story is not done, then the composer becomes simply a compositional tool and not the feeling machine I strive to be :D.

What I felt from the story so far is that the tension comes not so much external danger, rather than Allister's internal transformation. It's the tension of the birthing pains behind a hero about to be. The sort of tension only a storm can alleviate. I chose his toy unicorn as the focus point for this piece, as I believe it represents exactly that, him stepping into the role of protector, after (quite literally) being torn away from it and his father.

I followed his transformation with a bit of an otherworldly/emotional/cinematic/open-ended piece, that marks only the begging of his story and since I love cool, simple and memorable themes which the whole compositional cycle can be built on afterwards, without further ado I present to you a demo for "Allister's Unicorn".
