Collaborate with us to create a a new "International Director" of DBRIS character by detailing their upbringing, life story, and association with DBRIS and Disco Ball Theory.
My name is Alger Fynn. I am 37 years old. It has been 8 years since I started working at the DBRIS and I officially became the director 2 years ago. I have been married for 10 years and together with my wife, we have a lovely 5-year-old daughter.
At the age of 5, upon hearing my mom’s calling, I ran down the stairs and suddenly tripped, which resulted in a crescent-shaped scar on my forehead. Yet it is now often covered with my hair. As a pragmatic person, shirts, blouses and trousers are my customary garb. Notwithstanding, I commit to always looking neat: shirt tucked in, caravat being tied perfectly, etc. Sadly, betraying my pursuit is the presence of my worsening eyebags and bloodshots. I personally favor a solitary workspace, free from interruptions to give space to my entangled thoughts. Needless to say, I find it rather difficult to express my feelings, hence often being seen as being stone cold.
I consider myself straightforward, so I would prefer people getting straight to the points. Despite not being expressive, my eyes cannot lie in the slightest. I must admit, soliloquy is one of my habits, which is often accompanied by the rhythmic dance of my pen. My passion for physics can be traced to a forest’s fiery spectacle: a tree, struck by lightning, flaming fire in its core. That magnificent sight ignited a fascination in me with the capacity of electricity. Nate is a close friend of mine, whom I have known ever since I was a child. Even though we do not go on the same path, he is the person I always go to when I am confronted with impasses. I hold a PHD in Applied Physics with a specialization in the field of electromagnetism. My journey led me through 4 years working in a leading U.S tech colossus, before I joined DBRIS.
It all started when I received a call reporting my parents’ incident. When I arrived, remained in the lab was a gate, which at times sparked light out of thin air. Combined with flashbacks of my childhood and my unsolved question about the capacity of electricity, I decided to devote my career for DBRIS and Disco Ball Theory. After a few years in DBRIS, I must admit I barely spent time at home, resulting in my deteriorating marriage life and I started talking to myself more often than ever. I have a rather contradicting view on Disco Ball Theory. Even though my support for this theory stems from the fact that it can bring unprecedented breakthroughs in science, there is also a hidden fear of mine of opening a gate to a rather dangerous universe. However, I hold that our institution is the key to the future and since we have gathered an enormous amount of resources, I believe it’s time it was made public. My desire is that our institution can act as a means to communicate with other universes and even cooperate with other species. With that being said, I will only pay attention to adverse opinions of this theory if those people can present logical explanations for their grounds. I have a reliable assistant, most of the documents are sent to her to check before being presented to me. Other than that, as far as I know, some may hold a grudge against my attitude, but I don’t have any significant rivalries.
