Lohmen, known in his village as 'Paint', is a character marked by profound internal conflict and sporadic fits of anger, especially following his son's departure. His journey through heartache and self-discovery forms the crux of his role, where each interaction reveals layers of his struggle and his attempts to find solace in his art.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Character Notes:
Male, 30's, male, father, Scottish or Irish accent.
Performance Notes:
The performer should bring Lohmen's conflicted and passionate nature to life. The ideal voice should convey a blend of intensity and fragility, hinting at the emotional depths and scars Lohmen carries (think: Douglass Henshall).
Audition Reading:
“I know it’s been five years, but my son….” Lohmen struggled with the next part. “If he’s alive, my son, he was taken. If he was taken, they’d have to leave by sea. This continent isn’t that big.”
FINAL DELIVERABLES
The selected voice performer for this Co/Create will conduct a one-hour recording session to record all of the lines currently written for Lohmen in The Painter (see The Painter on Royal Road for reference).
As additional chapters are produced, the chosen actor will work with the creator of The Painter to set up a mutually agreed upon recording schedule and scope of work and budget to record future chapters of the story.
