Scene 1:

Naia turns more towards him and extends her hand to shake his. She has a great big friendly and charming smile. Julius shakes her hand, almost a little taken back by her extreme friendliness.

Naia: "Well, I’m Naia! Pleased to meet you."

Julius: "Julius Snider."

Naia’s eyes go big and wide and excited! She is very happy about this!

Naia: "You are!? That’s great! I’ve been looking for you."

Julius kinda puffs himself up in pride and smugness. Naia just looks up with jittering enthusiasm.

Julius: "Well, here I am. How can I help you?"

Naia: "I’m in need of your services as an arms dealer, actually."

Scene 2:

Naia faces the same direction as Taeru with a warm smile. She truly loves being in places like this. People are passing by them in the background, going in and out of the terminal.

Naia: "All these people, living their own individual lives. I wonder where they’re all going. What kind of lives they all have."

Naia’s smile sorta fades slightly as she thinks. A hint of sadness there.

Naia: "If they know who they are."

Naia’s grin returns as she turns to look at Taeru and lifting up the drinks shes holding. Taeru looks at her puzzled.

Naia: "Bubble tea?"

Taeru: "What?"

Naia: "Bubble tea! Coconut, green tea, or strawberry?"

Scene 3:

Naia and Taeru are standing in the arts and crafts aisle. Of what looks like a walmart. Naia is looking at bottles of paint with a befuddled look. Taeru might be sitting on the ground with his elbows resting on his knees. He looks tired.

Naia: "Hm, maybe this one? They don’t quite match your skintone--dangit how did Helen do it?"

Naia on the phone, Helen’s face can pop up in a smaller bubble.

Naia: "Helen! I need your help! What’d you use to cover up Taeru’s tattoo?"

Helen: "Oh that? I used foundation and then blended it with a sponge."

Naia looks super confused as an image of a cracked house foundation and one of those green and yellow dish washing sponges appears behind her.

Naia: "Foundation? Sponge?"

Helen: "You know, makeup foundation?"

Naia: "Makeup?"

Helen aggravated.

Helen: "Yes, Makeup, Naia. Stuff you put on your face to look prettier. You’ve seriously never seen me put on makeup?"

Naia alarmed.

Naia: "What? You put stuff on your face to make yourself prettier?!"

Helen: "Of course I do, Naia."

Naia: "You’re not naturally beautiful!?"

Helen with a flat expression, phone to her ear.

Helen: ". . . I guess not."

Naia stares in amazement and shock.

Naia: "Holy cannoli!"

Naia will be saying a few Japanese sayings throughout the comic though they will be sparse. So I’d like to see if you can deliver a few lines in the language with a believable accent. Please refer to the audio file for pronunciation if you are unfamiliar with the language. If you are chosen to voice this character, I will be happy to coach you on a believable pronunciation on any Japanese lines during the project.

The selected voice performer for this Co/Create will conduct a recording session to record the 126 lines written for Naia in the first 4 chapters of Temerity.

As additional chapters are produced, the chosen actor will work with the Temerity creator to set up a mutually agreed upon recording schedule and scope of work and budget to record future chapters of the story.
