Collaborate with the creator of After Honour to compose the thematic score that will underscore the intense and emotional journey of Red, the last Guardian of Rage, as he navigates the dangers threatening his family and the Land.
Hello !
Regarding the work for "After Honour", please find below some samples of composition I made for you :)
While reading the comic, I noticed some important themes. First, the fragility of Iris (and even the whole world), which is protected by Red. This is represented by the Dulcimer Pluck in the first demo, an instrument that fits a fantasy setting but also conveys a sense of loneliness. Meanwhile, the bass and sound design evoke a dangerous and cold world. In the main theme, I used a bamboo flute, which symbolizes the wisdom Red needs to avoid succumbing to rage, as well as nostalgia for all the loss that has occurred. Strings represent nature, while horns evoke the heroism of their quest. The main melody is reusable, as you'll hear in the third sample.
The second sample, "Tension and War," features low percussion sounds, which create a warrior-like atmosphere. Guttural/mouth sounds mimic the noises of cats and wolves, giving it a tribal feel. There's also a noise, like heavy breathing, that represents a constant menace.
The third sample, "Mystical," uses choirs to add a spiritual dimension, representing the ancients or temples. The theme is reused, but the melody primarily consists of 5th and 4th intervals to evoke a Gregorian-era vibe and enhance the mystical effect. The main theme returns here as well.
