Collaborate with the creator of Devil May Care to compose the theme song for the opening title sequence and additional thematic music throughout the series.
I've played in a bunch of punk and indie bands my whole life and I loved the brief for the DMC theme music, cause I think it's right up my alley. For the music, I wanted to created something that has a 90's post-hardcore spirit, kind of like Fugazi, but make it a bit more poppy and a bit more light-hearted, because the general feeling I got from the music you shared was: "independent yet delicate". I plan on getting a female vocalist friend of mine to do the lead vocals and will probably would leave mine as back up or if you don't like my timber I could get someone more "rugged" sounding. The lyrics I wrote are from the point of view of someone who's constantly hearing the voices of Valeria and Rangi AKA the reader as well as the characters in the comic. The constant back and forth of morally ambivalent arguments that leave us in a stupor with the small hope of finding relief in the ones that care for us, even when anxiety, self-doubt & anger make us push them away. So, without Further ado, I present to you the demo for the 30 second version of "Who'll tell us?". If you like the theme I can develop it into a full one up to 2 or 3 minutes, up to you.
_______________________LYRICS:
All those voices inside my head.Should make up their mind instead.I don't really need their helpif they can't help themselves, but...
Please, please, please...
Believe me when I say I know I have that evil in me.Don't leave me, cause I'll stay And who'll be left to tell us to FUCK OFF?
----------------------For the rest of the sound design of the comic I want to use the same instruments - guitar, bass, drums and keep it really stripped down, with only some light sound design like the one I used in the DEMO.I hope you enjoyed this and will possibly consider me for the project.
Best,
Maks
