Here's a demo of the song the project inspired me, with lyrics below:

The piece lacks bass and a proper mix and I plan on having female vocals from a friend in place of my own pitched-up vocals for Valeria's part, but the structure's there. The lyrics are inspired by the vibe of the comic, both in terms of the puns and the relationship between the characters.

This push-and-pull of their current relationship is reflected in the guitar parts : panned on both sides, they start on the same note with one going up the scale while the other goes down the scale creating a mix of tension and harmony. As for the chorus, I created harmonic density by playing different voicings of the chords on each side, expressing how despite their points of view being so different, their combined influence tends to bring out the best possible result.

I can think of ways to interpolate the musical ideas from the song into short instrumental pieces reflecting the various moods of the comic. For my experience in the matter, here are the scores I did for two independent short films in France :
